About the Founder

Hello! I'm Rebekah Morgan, the founder of Sweet Peas Daycare LLC. Originally started as a non-profit initiative, my daycare has transitioned to a registered LLC and benefit company, and is actively working toward becoming a certified B Corp. Located in Tualatin, Oregon, I bring over 30 years of experience and a degree in early childhood education to create a safe, nurturing, and educational environment where children can thrive. My expertise in music and process art enriches our program, fostering creativity and holistic growth in every child.

My Personal Journey: The relocation of my family to Portland in 2018 presented significant challenges, including experiencing homelessness twice since the start of the pandemic in 2020. With the support of community programs, including rapid re-housing, we found a stable place to call home in Tualatin in November 2022. This new beginning inspired me to build and give back through childcare, leading to the launch of Sweet Peas Daycare LLC.

Inception: In November 2023, I established Sweet Peas Daycare LLC with support from two reputable nonprofit organizations in Washington County, IRCO and Centro de Prosperidad. This initiative marks a return to my passion for child development, guiding my family toward financial self-sustainability and enhancing the availability of quality childcare within our community.

My Commitment as a Benefit Company: At Sweet Peas Daycare LLC, embodying the principles of a benefit company is central to my operation. I commit to the highest standards of purpose, accountability, and transparency, ensuring that my actions consistently reflect my dedication to the children, their families, and our planet.

  • Inclusive Childcare: Every child deserves a supportive and enriching environment. My program is carefully designed to cater to the unique developmental needs of each child, ensuring they feel valued and empowered every day.

  • Community Engagement: My involvement in the community extends beyond childcare. I actively participate in local initiatives and serve on Tualatin’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Advisory Committee and volunteer with the Community Emergency Response Team. This engagement enhances my ability to contribute to meaningful community improvements and support.

  • Environmental Stewardship: Environmental education is integral to my curriculum. I practice and teach sustainable habits, reducing our ecological footprint and instilling a sense of environmental responsibility in the next generation.

These commitments shape every aspect of Sweet Peas Daycare LLC, from the way I design my program to the daily interactions I have with the community. By embracing my role as a benefit company, I strive not only to provide top-tier childcare but also to serve as a positive force for change in our community and the environment.

Certifications and Training:

  • Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED for Infants, Children, and Adults.

  • Food Handlers Certification.

Personal Interests: My profound love for mindfulness, meditation, and nature deeply influences my approach, promoting an environment that nurtures the whole child—mind, body, and emotional well-being.
